Stephanie Urano joined Walls Landry Baker & Oliver in 2023, focusing her practice on a wide array of commercial real estate transactions. Her areas of expertise include acquisitions and dispositions, development, leases, brokerage agreements, and transactional financing. Notably, Stephanie advises on specialized real estate projects, including the acquisition, development, and financing of properties for an Alzheimer’s care facility developer, multi-family projects, and retail properties, extending her advisory services nationwide. Her exemplary work in real estate law garnered her recognition in The Best Lawyers in America® for 2025 and previously in 2024.
Prior to joining WLBO, Stephanie served as in-house counsel for an insurance company and as an associate in a large Dallas law firm. This diverse experience equips her with a broad perspective and a deep understanding of the complexities involved in real estate law, enabling her to provide comprehensive legal solutions to her clients.
Stephanie’s educational background is equally impressive. She earned a B.A. in Liberal Arts from Lubbock Christian University in 1996, where she graduated summa cum laude and was a member of the varsity women’s basketball team. She then pursued her Juris Doctor at Texas Tech University School of Law, graduating in 1999. During her law studies, she was the recipient of a full academic scholarship, won the Am Jur Award for Excellence in Legal Research and Writing, served on the Legal Research and Writing Board, competed on the Board of Barristers, and was the Community Service Chairperson of the Student Bar Association. She was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1999.
Stephanie is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Real Estate, Probate and Trust Section, and the Dallas Bar Association. She was named New Member of the Year by CREW Dallas in 2008. Her community involvement is extensive, serving as Vice President of the Plano East Basketball Booster Club, a board member for the Top Achievers Foundation, and an active member of the National Charity League Eastern Star Chapter. Stephanie is dedicated to philanthropic efforts, including work with Children’s Hospital, Capes for Kids, Amazing Grace Food Pantry, The Bridge Connection, Soup Mobile, and the Plano Independent School District.
